SEDCO voices opposition to cement kiln project - Herald Democrat
The Sherman Economic Development Corp. (SEDCO) has expressed its opposition to the development of a cement kiln and mining operation just outside of Sherman.
Sherman Economic Development Corp. (SEDCO) is against a proposed cement kiln and mining project to be developed by Black Mountain Kiln, just outside Sherman, Texas. The opposition was highlighted during a SEDCO Board of Directors meeting, which was attended by Grayson County Judge Bruce Dawsey and County Commissioner Jeff Whitmire.
They sought SEDCO's support in the fight against the kiln project, citing potential threats to regional development and growth. Despite taking no formal action during the meeting, SEDCO members expressed their backing for the efforts led by Grayson County and other stakeholders to oppose the project.
