India: UltraTech Expands Cement Capacity in Uttarakhand

UltraTech Cement has announced the commissioning of a 1 mtpa brownfield cement capacity at Roorkee, raising the unit’s total capacity to 2.1 mtpa1.

In a significant development for India’s cement industry, UltraTech Cement has unveiled its newly commissioned brownfield cement capacity in Roorkee, Uttarakhand. This expansion increases the unit’s capacity from 1 mtpa to 2.1 mtpa. The enhancement is part of the company’s broader capacity expansion plan, which was announced in June 2022 and encompasses an addition of 22.6 mtpa across its operations.

With this latest commissioning, UltraTech’s total grey cement manufacturing capacity in India has now reached 138.39 mtpa. UltraTech is recognized as a leading manufacturer of grey cement and ready-mix concrete (RMC), and also holds a prominent position in the white cement sector in India.
